From the world health organisation, At least 2.8 million people each year die as a result of being overweight or obese. The prevalence of obesity nearly tripled between 1975 and 2016. Once associated with high-income countries, obesity is now also prevalent in low- and middle-income countries. Obese individuals may find themselves having a shorter lifespan as compared to healthy individuals of up to 14 years of difference. If your country’s average lifespan is 70 years of age, meaning to say for obese individuals, their life expectancy would be 56 years of age. Obesity is also one of the leading cause of death, mostly arising from illnesses and diseases associated with being Obese & Overweight.
